Longford Parish (Templemichael and Ballymacormack) is very aware of the need to achieve best practise in the area of Child Protection. We would like to take the opportunity to highlight the Parish’s Child Protection Policy which is on view in the porch of the Cathedral and each Church. We have had the assistance of two child protection representatives in the parish over the past three years to assist in the implementation and monitoring of this policy. We have just recruited two new people to fulfil this role. Parents of Altar Servers form a rota of teams that act in a supervisory capacity, assisting the children before and after Mass.

All people interacting with children in the Parish undergo Garda vetting. The priests and staff of Longford Parish are fully committed to observing the highest standards when in contact with our young parishioners.
